•Stay hydrated!!! If you are thirsty, you are dehydrated. When properly hydrated, your urine will be nearly clear. (Note that some drugs and foods can alter the color of your urine.)
•Lower your salt intake. The body can only store salt in fluid suspension – which will gather in the skin around your eyes. (Bonus: Lowering your salt consumption can improve your overall health.)
•Never sleep wearing eye make-up. Regardless of how tired you may be, always use an eye make-up remover and continue until the cotton ball or pad shows no signs of make-up. Use a cotton pad rather than a tissue because it is less irritating. Removing eye make-up will prevent it from entering the eyelid and causing irritation.
•Beware of bacteria. Speaking of eye make-up…Do not use mascara or any other eye product that is older than a few months. Bacteria that have grown in the make-up would love a new home in your eyes, and will cause your eyelids to swell. On this note it is probably a good idea not to share your eye products with anyone else either.
•Be sure you get enough quality, regular sleep.
•Sleep with your head elevated to allow better circulation and prevent fluid from collecting around your eyes.
•Sleep on your back so that gravity does not route fluid directly to your eyes.

There are medications that can help lessen eye puffiness and alleviate the sore feeling, but if you’re at home, you can try some natural remedies. Here are a few examples.
    A Splash Of Cold Water
Most people get puffy eyes during the morning, after a sleepless night. Even if you’re not crying, and just working or studying, your eyes can get all sore and puffy when you wake up. Since you probably need to shower too, cold water might be the perfect cure for you. Rinse your face with several splashes of ice-cold water to ease your sleepiness and puffiness away. The cold water will help constrict the blood vessels and lessen swelling. Soon, your puffy eyes will go back to normal. You can repeat this tactic a few more times throughout the day, as often as you need to.
    The Tea Bag Solution
Drinking tea is always beneficial for your health, but do you know that this soothing and delicious beverage works great for puffy eyes too? You don’t need to drink it to cure your puffy problem. Just place the tea bags over your eyes. Soak two teabags in hot water for three to five minutes, then take them out and let them cool, until they are warm to the touch. Lie down, put the tea bags over your eyes and then cover with a soft cloth. After a few minutes, remove them. Your eyes will be fresh again. You can use either green tea or black tea for this method, as long as they are caffeinated. The caffeine helps lessen swelling and constrict blood vessels. Some herbal teas, like chamomile, also contain anti-irritants that soothe inflammation and redness.
    The Cool Cucumber Tactic
Yes, cucumbers are said to help remove bags and wrinkles around your eyes, but do you know that this crunchy vegetable works just as effectively for sore and puffy eyes? Cucumbers have soothing astringent properties that are deliciously cool and soothing. They’ll work very efficiently for your tired, swollen eyes. Get two fresh cucumber slices. You can put them in the refrigerator for a few hours, to enhance their cooling nature. Lean your head back, put a cucumber slice over your closed eyes and let them stay them for at least five to 10 minutes. Relax. The cucumber slices will heal your swollen eyes in no time.
    Potato Power
Are you about to cook hash browns for breakfast? Set one of those tubers aside, since it can help with your puffy eye problem. According to European folk medicine, potatoes are effective in soothing headaches, painful joints and other inflammatory ailments. Their starch works as a good anti-inflammatory agent that’ll ease the pain from your eyes. To start, peel, wash, and dry a potato. Get a sharp knife and grate the potato as fine as possible. Then, put the pulpy potato bits in a clean cloth, to make a poultice. Place this over the eyelids for at least 15 minutes. Your painful dilemma will be gone in no time.
    Whisk Some Egg Whites
You know why egg whites are sometimes used as substitute for facial masks? It’s because they have skin tightening properties that are said to help prevent wrinkles from forming. Egg whites also work great for puffy eyes too, helping the skin tighten and lessening its swollen, painful look. Get a couple of egg whites and whip them up in a bowl until they’re stiff. Add a bit of witch hazel. Then, using a brush, apply the egg whites under your eyes. Let the mixture sit and dry for a few minutes before rinsing. Your skin will feel tighter and less puffy.
    The Spoon Remedy
Spoons are for eating, but they also do wonders for puffy eyes. Place four to six pairs of spoons in your refrigerator. When your eyes become uncomfor

I have the same trouble as you, but I know that my sleeping habit is one of it, so I set out to see how to get rid of it, and here what I got.
    1. Avoid excessive rubbing or drying of your eyes to get rid of puffiness. The skin around your eyes is extremely sensitive, and repeated touching of your eyes can not only irritate the them, but also worsen allergies — and both can lead to puffy eyes. Also remember to take your contact lenses out before bed each night to avoid irritation and drying and the resulting puffiness.
    2. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER: When your body becomes dehydrated (maybe after a night of heavy drinking or an extended illness) it stores water as a defense mechanism. This built-up water can contribute to baggy or puffy eyes, so drinking the recommended 8-10 glasses of water will reduce water build-up and alleviate baggy eyes.
    3. Make natural creams and cooling masks for your eyes out of household items like yogurt, cucumbers, strawberries, kiwis, and other fruits.

COLD Chamomile tea bags. NOT WARM.

Dark under eye circles are caused by thin skin under your eyes or broken blood vessels under the skin. There is new technology that helps to thicken skin or to increase blood flow around the eyes. Either of the two ways would be through a pricey eye cream, so for you, I would stick with the tea bags or some cold cucumbers!
