Posted on November 28th, 2009 by admin

these big dark circles make me look more ugly than i am….i’m 15 now….and i’ve had them for years now….everybody keeps asking me are u sick? looks like u didnt sleep well last night or is this some exam pressure…i am disgusted by my own reflection and i feel so inferior….plzzz help me out…..

the insulting people above me are fucking retarded.

I have problems myself. I cant guarantee this will work but it does help.

1) ice… get an ice pack from walmart something preferably comfortable to sleep with over your face. I chose one that has these little beads it feels like inside. and its cloth outside. its about 9 inches long and about two inches wide. the beads keep the whole thing cool but not uncomfortably freezing.

the reason: some patches or bags under the eye is due to fluid and blood in the area.

2) the other person is right you could have lack of iron which will also cause circles.. take a daily vitamin.

3) there are oil of olay products with Vitamin K. in them. its a small jar, probably the size round of a quarter, and one inch deep. you apply it to the skin around your eyes. you can get it at walmart.

4) its a bit pricey like 10 bucks, but they have in the make section called concealer. look for neutrogena. neutrogena is a brand that deals with skin needs, and makes make up for skin with special needs. read the back of any neutrogena eye products and see if they say "gets rid of circles under eyes, " "or has vitamins blah blah and blah"

I have one, its in a tube, you twist the end, and apply with a cotton tip it has. I like this product. but it helps reduce teh appearance of such stuff. then just add a light powder to blend bebe ;)

cut some potato’s and put them on your eyes, they draw out the toxins that cause the darkness. and get lots of sleep.

Use a concealer called DERMABLEND. It is a sweatproof cream concealer which comes in heaps of colours. It is meant for people with birthmarks and scars but works well for dark circles.

I had this problem too – and make up is NOT the way to go. Make up just makes it obvious that you’re trying to hide something; and as a result, draws more attention to it.

I had dark circles under my eyes from 1993 (as a young teenager) until 2004. I’ll explain a little of my condition because it may help you identify similarities.

Firstly, my dark circles were not sleep related. They popped up during puberty and didn’t go away. I have dry eyes as well, which give the white of my eyes a yellow, dull colouring. Not attractive at all.

This is what I did. I went into a chemist/pharmacy that has a wide selection of products and looked for under eye cream that specialises in dark circles ONLY. The key ingrediant that these creams should contain is Vitamin K. If it doesn’t have that, it’s a gimic and won’t work. The first cream I used an had immediate results was "St Ives" dark circles cream. It wasn’t expensive – maybe $30… I live in Australia and that product has since disappeared (I don’t know why). Since then, I’ve used any under eye cream with Vitamin K. Price makes no difference to results, so don’t feel you should have to fork out a lot of cash to get anything out of it.

The creams worked so well, I stopped wearing concealer – no need for it! Plus, wearing normal foundation (and not much of it) looks far better.

The other thing I did was to buy a vitamin supplement to help retain moisture within my eyes. I felt that the dark circles were worsened by the fatigue my dry eyes syndrome brought about. The amount of hours I slept made no difference because dry eyes isn’t caused by that. The eye specialist I went to about this condition recommended eye drops (not Visine; but ones that didn’t contain preservatives – it’s safer). I tried this from 2002 – 2004 before I got sick of it. It didn’t work! So I went into a herbal store / chemist and looked for vitamin supplements that catered for dry eyes or fatigue. Off memory, try looking for products that contain Vitamin A, Zince and Eye Bright… I think a berry is also helpful – speak to the pharmacist / herbologist; they should know. I started doing this in 2005 – a year after the cream.

Washing my eyes out every month with a natural tears eye wash also helped.

By 2006, my eyes looked normal but I still continued using the creams, but only took the vitamin supplements every now and then.

Mid 2007, I only use the eye cream rarely and have stopped taking the tablets all together.

Try this out. I know my post is VERY long, but I had this same problem as a teenager and young adult and it made me feel very self conscious it. I don’t want to not share my experience and advice if it could help others in the same boat.

aww sweetie i had the same problem! I was sick for about 2 years in elementary school, i think thats what started the circles, but they never went away. I tried creams (just simple eye creams you can get anywhere, i usually got them at kmart- kinda pricey though) those worked a little. They didn’t totally go away but they did help, a lot. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

Don’t listen to them, sleep does not help.. unless of course you’re lacking it (less than 8 hours a night). Too much sleep will make you even more sleepier. Have you ever noticed that when you sleep in you feel lazy and sleepy the rest of the day? Some studies show that ‘teens’ need at least 9 hours to be well rested, but experiment. How ever long it takes to wake up feeling refreshed (don’t over sleep though!). Also, don’t drink too much coffee or soda. Rather than coffee in the mornings, eat an apple, it’s natural energy.

Basically, creams and healthy sleep & diets will minimize your circles to were you wont feel self conscious about it.
When i say healthy diets i mean balanced diet (ya know, the food pyramid, haha)

I really hope i’ve helped. I’m 16 now and i’m not self conscious about my circles as much anymore. Sure, they’re still there.. it’s apart of how i am, but they aren’t as freakish as they used to be.
Just give yourself time, you’ll grow into it and they will minimize in time.

they might be heriditary. If thats the reason, there’s no cure!!
It might also b due to unhealthy diet. Make sure that u have a balanced and nutritious diet.
I too have dark circles but they r not very severe!! You can try placing green-tea bags on ur eyes for a few minutes. It really helps!! Or perhaps cucumber!
    Also get enough sleep!!!

OK I HAD the same problem. Just try to get a lot of sleep, drink atleast 8 cups if water a day, put moisturizer under your eyes very thickly before you go to sleep, and try relaxing with chilled cucumbers over your eyes (they have a bleeching affect). Also if you have bags )the ones that you have in the morning but dont have later) try sleeping with your head proped up with a few pillows! I have also hear that preperation H helps if you put it under your eyes, YES I KNOW IT IS HEMEROID CREAM but people say it really does work! Also get one of those gell sleep masks you put in the freezer and wear it when you sleep! Spending less time in front of the TV or comp. will halp too yes i know torture (it does not do that much but it helps a bit.

Dont waste your money on those creams they are basically like cumcumber juice and face moisturizer! just buy a face cream and use that!

And for a cover up I would recomend cover girl mineral wear or something like that! It goes on like a powder but it cover better then a liquid or gell plus since it is minerals it is good for your skin and will help improve it! Try to get one shade lighter to cover up the dark circles!

PS. if you have allergys it is probly from that. but doing some of teh tricks i said should help!

Apply cold raw grated potato mixed with the juice of half lemon around the eye area. Leave on for about 20 minutes and wash off with cold milk. Check out http://useinfo-darkcircles.blogspot.com/ for more info.
