im 18 years old and have had dark circles (like bags) under my eyes for a while now. what are all the possibilities for getting rid of them? i use a loreal cream right now but thats not working too good. what else works? i wanna know any possibility even as far as surgery.

i was watching a movie the other day and they froze spoons and put them under their eyes to help it go away. but it might have just been something that worked only in the movie.

Mmkay, get a concealer and powder that is two shades lighter then your skin tone. I recommend CoverGirl concealer and powder or Physician’s Formula.

Take the concealer and dot it on your dark circles, then, with your ring finger, gently blend it in by lightly rubbing and rolling the ball of your finger.

Then take the powder on a powder brush and smooth it over the concealer evenly.

There are also eye creams you can get at a drug store that will lighten them, a good one is by Olay.

I suffer from really dark circles under my eyes and i’ve tried putting cucumber on my eyes every night, tried expensive creams and gels, a cold cloth over my eyes while i sleep. I make sure i get 8+ hours of sleep a night and always drink a lot of water. Nothing seems to help at all. Please help. and please don’t say get surgery. I’m too young to get surgery and don’t want it.

Well you cant really change your skin tone unless you use a makeup , but being you seem to have enough sleep I suggest a good multi vitamin it maybe as simple as your body missing some elements.

I have them BAD, naturally. Even went to the doctor and dermatologist and nothing has helped. I had to work makeup underneath them every day, and sometimes that doesn’t even help. I take vitamin supplements, and get enough sleep, but even my doctor said it was part of my skin tone.

Drink LOTS of water! Don’t forget that too much sleep can make you tired and possibly put those circles under your eyes.

I have dark circles under my eyes and puffiness from lack of sleep, I know I should sleep but my medication keeps me up. What are cheap and effective ways to prevent or treat the dark circles and puffiness other than sleep cause sadly, that’s not happening. Okay so i apply makeup (around 6 o’clock in the morning before school) i start with a dab of councler on each lid and underneath my eyes and apply purple eye shadow to my lower lid and a creame to my upper…i then apply (semi-cheap) eye linner ONLY to my top and then smudge a little cause its hard for me to stay close to the line and semi-expensive mascara and then after school and sometimes just 3 hours after i get these really gross dark circles and shit under my eyes and my mom says i should stop wearing it b/c i look horrible and i do but it makes my eyes pop and i cant help it! You can make your ayes pop simply by using eyeliner and maybe mascara..I would listen to your mom because in a little while your skin will get all wrinkly.

Let’s say I am a guy and don’t want to wear make-up. Since plastic surgeons do plenty of eye surgery, including delicate tissue, why can’t I find info on removing dark circles? If you say they can, and have a reference, please list it. Thanks! (If you are suggesting Avon or other creams, please don’t reply. This is only a plastic surgery question)

They can’t because it’s a symptom- it’d be like asking them to remove measles. Whilst the cause can be tiredness, an allergy or heredity, apparently the most common cause is nasal congestion.
